Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro+ review

Pros

  • Excellent display quality with high brightness
  • Significantly improved battery life
  • Fast charging capabilities
  • Solid mid-range performance
  • Improved drop and water resistance

Cons

  • Launch price is not competitive
  • Selfie camera does not take better photos despite resolution bump
  • Main camera zoom performance is worse or unchanged
  • Ultrawide camera is entry-level hardware
  • Low-light video from the main camera is preferred on its predecessor

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is a solid mid-range device, offering an excellent and bright curved OLED display, significantly improved battery life, and fast charging. It also boasts improved drop and water resistance, making it quite durable.

However, its launch price is a notable drawback, as it competes with devices featuring more powerful chipsets or better camera systems at a similar cost. While the main camera sees some daylight improvements, its zoom and low-light video performance are mixed, and the selfie camera is unremarkable.

The phone's performance is adequate for a mid-ranger, and its thermal management is excellent. Ultimately, the reviewer suggests that the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ will become a much more competitive option once its price adjusts post-launch.

It's a solid mid-ranger with good battery life and an excellent display. The charging is pretty fast and you get improved drop and water resistance.
However, the phone is not all that cheap at launch. That means it sits in the same price category as phones with more powerful chipsets or better cameras.
However, once it price does cool down a bit, the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus should be a lot more competitive.

REDMI Note 15 Pro / 15 Pro Plus - “Real Review”

Pros

  • Significantly faster 100W wired charging.
  • Premium build quality and luxurious feel.
  • High-brightness 1.5K AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.
  • Capable mid-range performance for daily use and gaming.
  • Better speakers and improved 32MP selfie camera.

Cons

  • Lacks wireless charging.
  • Rear camera did not pass the zoom test.
  • Always On Display is limited to 10 seconds.
  • No expandable memory via microSD card slot.
  • Not recommended if priced above $400.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus is presented as a strong "mid-range" option, particularly appealing under the $400 price point, offering a premium feel with its build quality. It boasts a vibrant 1.5K AMOLED display and significantly faster 100W wired charging.

Performance is solid for daily tasks and gaming, matching the Pro model in real-world use, and it includes a 32MP selfie camera and improved speakers.

However, it falls short by lacking wireless charging, expandable storage, and a triple camera setup, while its "Always On Display" is limited to 10 seconds and its camera zoom capability is disappointing.

Despite these drawbacks, its overall package and enhanced features over the Pro model make it a recommended choice for personal use, provided the price remains competitive.

Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'm giving both of these phones a major go.
Go with the better build quality. Not to mention, you know, look at the display with the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus. This one kind of has it has a flat sides, but you feel that the display is raised up a little bit. So, it kind of gives it a more luxurious feel. Not to mention, it feels more premium.

Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus – Bigger, Tougher… But Is It Better?

Pros

  • Significant 13% increase in battery capacity
  • Standout larger and brighter 1.5K OLED display
  • Consistent and efficient performance from the Snapdragon 7S Gen 4
  • Primary camera performs beautifully, even in low light
  • Offers multiple upgrades at the same price point as its predecessor

Cons

  • Average selfie and main camera video performance
  • Subtle performance bump over the previous generation
  • Four-sided curved display might not suit all users
  • Video recording exhibits focus hunting and EIS jitter

The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus is presented as a mid-cycle refresh offering subtle yet impactful upgrades over its predecessor. Key improvements include a larger, brighter 1.5K OLED display with enhanced PWM dimming, a significant 13% increase in battery capacity to 7,000 mAh, and a new Snapdragon 7S Gen 4 SoC providing consistent performance. The camera system, while largely unchanged, features a capable primary sensor, though video recording and selfie performance remain average.

Crucially, these enhancements come without a price increase in China, making it a compelling "no-brainer" for those considering the previous model, despite minor ergonomic changes and a shift in build materials.

So if Redmi's idea was to deliver a slightly better phone at the same price point just 6 months after the last one, I guess I'm fine with that.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus is a solid capable phone. Not a ton of new features on offer, but if you were already considering the 14 Pro Plus, this basically is a no-brainer.
So, in a nutshell, this is what you get with the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus. A slightly bigger, slightly better display, improved speakers, better durability, a small bump in performance, and a 13% higher capacity battery.
