The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max emerges as a strong contender in the "Pro Max" category, setting new benchmarks with its unique blend of features. It boasts a powerful 200MP camera system, an impressive 8500 mAh battery with 100W fast charging, and exceptional gaming performance thanks to the world's first 5GHz mobile CPU.
The device further distinguishes itself with an innovative 6.9-inch main screen featuring a 'privacy screen' and a versatile rear display, alongside a generous inclusion of a fast charger and protective case in the box. The reviewer highlights its compelling alternatives to other manufacturers, positioning it as a significant challenger in the market.
“والآن، أخبرني أنت أيهما الماكس الحقيقي. ما معنى كلمة "ماكس" أصلاً في عام 2026؟ هل يتعلق الأمر بشاشة خارجية؟ ربما يتعلق بأقصى سعة للبطارية أو أكبر شاشة أو نسبة الشاشة إلى جسم الهاتف.”
“لكن الحقيقة هي أن لديك "برو ماكس" لتختار منه ليس من صنع أبل.”
“I finally got my hands on Xiaomi's 18 Pro Max and the upgrades Xiaomi has made this time around are pretty awesome. They've completely revamped the camera setup, added some nice quality of life upgrades, bumped up the SoC battery, and pretty much everything else. There's just a lot for us to talk about this year.”0
“In fact, it's actually a little lighter and slimmer than the Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max. But despite that, Xiaomi's managed to pack in pretty much everything you'd expect from a flagship. You get a solid IP rating, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, an IR blaster, NFC, even a USB 3.2 Gen1 port. There's also support for dual nano SIMs. There's Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and stereo speakers. Actually, Xiaomi's added a third speaker this time tucked away underneath that camera array. Now, this is to handle lower frequencies. It's a nice little addition, and overall, Xiaomi seems to have done just fine with the hardware here.”
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max stands out with its impressive hardware, featuring a cutting-edge 2-nanometer Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip and a substantial 8,500 mAh battery supported by rapid 100W charging.
Its camera system is significantly revamped with high-resolution sensors and a versatile back display, complemented by an innovative privacy display that reaches 4000 nits brightness.
However, the device presents some software challenges, including unintuitively placed privacy settings and a restrictive AI button that limits customization.
Despite these areas for improvement, the reviewer is optimistic that Xiaomi can further enhance the software experience to fully leverage its powerful hardware, making it an exceptionally compelling smartphone.
“this phone also got a chip upgrade... and it's also their first 2-nanometer chip, because this is one of the first phones in the world shipping with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme... Gen 6.”
“This phone also gets the 2-nanometer chip gains, but it also goes from a 7,500 milliamp-hour battery... to an 8,500 milliamp-hour battery on the Pro Max.”
“The telephoto sensor in particular. It's absolutely massive. It's literally the same size as a lot of other phones' primary cameras. So it's a 3.2x zoom, but cropability factor is very high when you have 200 megapixels to play with...”
