BEST smartphones of 2025: 10 categories

Pros

  • High performance thanks to Snapdragon 8 Elite
  • Long system support (7 years)
  • Three full-fledged camera lenses
  • 8K video recording capability
  • Attractive price after depreciation since launch

The Samsung Galaxy S25 is rated as the most versatile small smartphone of 2025, featuring a 6.3-inch display, positioning it among compact devices.

Despite some remarks about its derivative design, the phone delivers everything an average user might expect, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 12 GB RAM, and fast UFS 4.0 storage.

It also boasts a versatile triple-lens system with 8K recording capability and provides long, 7-year system support. Its price has dropped significantly since launch, making it a very good and cost-effective option on the market.

the base S25, which, of course, almost a year after its launch has dropped significantly in price, and it offers everything an average user might expect. Snapdragon 8 Elite, 7 years of support, three full-fledged lenses, 8K at 24 or 30 FPS, decent stereo speakers, a good fingerprint scanner, UFS 4.0, memory versions, 12 GB RAM.
6.3 inches, and however silly it may sound, this is one of the smaller smartphones. The S25, in my opinion, is very cool, despite the rather uninspired design, it's completely stale.

the One UI 8.5 beta, then it is a beta. So if you use this as your main phone and things that you use every day, they might not work as well as you'd expect them to and things like battery life might take a little bit of a hit.
It's not a huge overhaul, but there is some nice visual updates which I think look really nice. And that storage share, if they get that to work properly, I think that is a really nice update.
